Procedure For Getting To The Dreaming Body.
{excerpted + edited from “The Fire From Within”}
{excerpted + edited from “The Fire From Within”}
The development of dreamers is indirect.
{as distinct from a result of intervention by a nagual}
Toltec seers concluded we can do dreaming by ourselves, alone, untaught. Since dreaming uses a natural shift of the assemblage point, we should need no one to help us.
innerStrength is required to make the assemblage point shift to suitable positions.
{=> innerStrength = a $currency of awareness}
Starts with a decisive act . . . wanting to dream with the dreaming body, a wanting which by the very fact of being sustained . . . cultivates unbending intent.
Unbending intent eventually leads to internalSilence,
and internalSilence promptly accesses our growing innerStrength
{elsewhere called savings of energy}
This sequence of actions is termed the groundwork by its discoverers, the Toltec seers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Development of control begins after the groundwork is completed.
Control consists of systematically maintaining the dreaming position
by doggedly holding on to the vision of the dream.
Steady practice results in a great facility to hold new dreaming positions with new dreams,
not so much because one gains deliberate control with practice,
but because every time this control is exercised
the innerStrength is fortified by a boost of energyofalignment.
Fortified innerStrength in turn makes the assemblage point shift into dreaming positions,
to dreaming positions that progressively become more suitable to fostering sobriety ;
in other words, dreams by themselves become more and more manageable, even orderly.
What we most need is sobriety, and no one can give it to us
nor help us develop sobriety . . . except ourselves.
Without sobriety, the shift of the assemblage point is chaotic, as ordinary dreams are chaotic.
All in all, the procedure to get to the dreaming body is impeccability in our daily life.
Once sobriety is acquired and the dreaming positions become increasingly stronger,
the next step is to wake up at any dreaming position.
Although the metaphor is simple, the maneuver is complex ;
a skill that requires not only sobriety
but All the attributes of warriorship as well . . . especially intent.
Intent is capable of sophisticated control of the forceofalignment.
I asked nagual Juan how intent helps seers wake up at a dreaming position.
He replied that intent maintains the alignment of whatever emanations
have been lit after the movement of the assemblage point.
nagual Juan disclosed one formidable pitfall of dreaming :
the very strength of the dreaming body.
For example, it is easy for the dreaming body to gaze
at the Eagle’s emanations uninterruptedly for long periods,
but uninterrupted, that intense fascination ends with the dreaming body
being totally consumed* by the emanations.
*{in “Conversations with the Nagual”,
CC uses the term “dissolve” in the context
CC uses the term “dissolve” in the context
of a solitary warrior remaining in the 3rdAttention.}
Seers who gazed* at the Eagle’s emanations while awake dropped dead.
*[gazed = steady attention with hunters eyes switched off]
whereas those who gazed with their dreaming bodies burned with the fire from within {= entering 3rdAttention}
The new seers solved this deadly obstacle
to directly observing the Eagle’s emanations by seeing in teams.
While one seer gazed at the emanations, others stood by
ready to end the seeing.
A group of seers naturally activate the same unused emanations when dreaming together.
In this case also, there are no known steps, it just happens ; there is no technique to follow.
In dreaming together, something in us takes the lead
and suddenly we find ourselves sharing the same view with other dreamers.
What happens is that our human condition {the mould of man} automatically
makes us focus the glow of awareness on the same emanations that other human beings are using ;
we adjust the position of our assemblage points to fit the others around us.
We synchronise assemblage points on the right side, in our ordinary perception,
and we also do it on the left side, while dreaming together.
